I live in a dangerous neighbourhood

What you think was safe once is no more safe now....Even at home~! Damn, my backyard was broken in yesterday and the people took away the steel wash basin. Well, besides that, they've been "visiting"my backyard for scrap metal and stuff... I can't really do much, since no one's home. Report to police? Not that they can do much either, it is afterall a small matter to them. But what's lacking at my neighbourhood is police patrol, or even neighbourhood watch. The neighbourhood watch is only for those who paid them to do it. Not that they go around in the afternoons when the robbers strike. They do it in broad daylight~!!!

My neighbour was robbed in front of her house about 2 weeks ago. She was coming down from her car to open the gate, then the robber came, threaten her at knife point and robbed her~! It happened at about 5-6pm...c'mon~!! daylight robbery....gosh...what neighbourhood am I living in man??? I need to move already... oh ya...and this was the second time that it happened to my neighbour.

A colleague related her story to me, she was surrounded by a group of people with parang...not knife but PARANG when she was walking from her house to her car...they robbed her there and left. happened in PJ...but doesn't mean can't happen anywhere else...

So in conclusion ..there's no such thing as safe anymore. I should be putting my migration plan a few years ahead.... sigh....

Year end sickness...

Damn...been coughing a lot lately. Sigh, I want to get well by tomorrow I hope. Brother's ROM thingy is this coming weekend. I seriously need to get well. Fever and cough...sigh..might take sometime...but feeling way better already.

I WANNA GO FOR A HOLIDAY~! PJ just asked me for Bangkok around end of march, early april next year. Most probably will go la. haha...bought the Phantom of the Opera tickets for next year. Another SGD120 gone. it's SGD~!! only showing in Singapore mar. Don't want to miss that. Should be worth the watch...getting a balcony seat somemore. Hmmm....Something to look forward in 2007.

Big expenditure during December. Need to save. Don't know what other things that are going to come up...it's only the beginning of the month. Feels like so long...going to make 2 trips to Singapore this month. One for this weekend and another during Christmas. so there's 2 weekends taken up. Another one would be for new year dy....Judy said something bout a party. If she tells me more about it, might consider that.

Money spending weekend

Wow...Year-End-Sales just started..and I'm proud to announce that I've contributed to the country's economy already. Even prouder coz I didn't get SHOES~! Sihsin labeled me as the shoe-freak dy. Maybe will be able to find some when I'm down in Singapore for the weekend. Yeap, brother's ROM thingy is this coming weekend. Very fast. Not sure whether my mom will actually like the dress I bought...but then again, it's REALLY hard to satisfy her...so DON'T CARE.

I've realised I've been spending a lot of time with SC these 2 weekends. Haha, just like the good ol' days. Her birthday is coming soon....can't really think of what to get her. She got me this crystal rose thingy from HK. Her annual family trip. Wah, talking bout family trips, Jac is in China now also. Another annual family trip. CW will be going to Taiwan for his family trip....Hmm.....everyone going for family trips. And yea, should start this tradition in my family also lar. Maybe next year...I need to save money for that. RM -> SGD.....not that I can take a lot of it. It'll just have to happen ..SLOWLY. :p

24th Birthday celebration

Thank you to all for my friends and colleagues that were there to celebrate it with me. This year is a good year. At least I know my birthday wish is coming true.

Total candles blown out for this memorable occasion: 1+1+24+24+10=60!!!! Gosh, I turn 60 this year. nevermind..i'm still happy that everyone took the effort to prepare and have those celebrations.

1) Celebrations with colleagues:
TGIF lunch. Had spaghetti, they made me do the Birthday ritual thingy. Haha...a bit embarassing, so thank God no one got it on video. It's just me singing song...out of tune~! :P
Had a birthday treat there. Videos will be uploaded to my multiply site later. After that, they bought me a secret recipe cake for tea time. Chocolate Indulgence ....yumm... they took 24 small candles and put it all around. Pics will be in my multiply site also. Too lazy to upload all here.

2) Celebration with Kura-Kuras
Steamboat at Chiang Wei's place. He's nice enough to prepare the soup base and buy the other food stuff in the market. Kesian him, went to market and kena called uncle. :P But nvm, it was one incredible effort to collect everyone and celebrate my brithday. Thank you kura-kuras~! Thanks to Thean for the gift also. Love it~! We makan till all stomach bloated and the cake was GOOD~!! Still don't know who smashed my face on it.

3) Celebration at Wong Kok
Belated birthday celebration with Mell, CY, Seng, Koh, SC and the birthday boy, Yin Hau. went to Wong Kok for dinner. Thanks to Mell, CY and YH for the present. I like it...will use it next time. We had the birthday treat in Wong Kok also...the Big Glass of tea. Had some food that didn't really taste that nice. But we all had a good laugh, coz Ah Seng, the big joker/storyteller was there.

Well, there's also Chew to thank for the dinner on Monday nite. And those who sent all the birthday sms-es, emails and also calls. Especially touched when Zheng called all the way from UK. Thanks Thanks....Many Many thanks.. can check out the multiply site for the rest of the pics la.

Are you healthy?

My Singapore trip this time around was...informative. Yea, one day we were out for lunch in Toa Payoh and there's this free health screening and dental checkup organised by the NUS Medical and Dentistry students. Whoa, med students...all leng chai and leng luis... :P But all of them are in their 3rd year of studies I think.

It was gaining the interest of a crowd of senior citizens. Well, since they offer really good goodie bags, my parents, my sis-in-law and I thought...what the heck?it's free and I get free stuff. So we went to get our queue numbers. First start off with the weight and height measurements. Next was my blood pressure and then glucose level. Nothing much, besides the fact that I'm overweight...sigh... BMI was not at a healthy side. I kinda expected that. And the soon-to-be doctor also said, besides that, I'm perfectly healthy...hmm.. After that, I think I should go and get myself a full body checkup. They had to take my BP readings 3 times. First 2 times shows that it was quite high. The 3rd shows that I'm normal. Freaked me out a bit. My glucose level was normal too.

We thought of going away before the dentistry student approached my mom, telling her bout the free dental checkup. So it was another round of waiting for the checkup. After years and years of not visiting a dentist; the results: I need scaling ( whatever that means... ). The student just told me to go to a dentist and mention that. Ok...and she was also nice enough to chat a little while. So happened that she's Malaysian too. And after the lesson on how to brush your teeth, she passed me a bag of goodies. I can say..their freebies..is REALLY good~! Thinking back on my uni days, there weren't one/more company that's willing to sponsor that much of stuff~!! So it was a rewarding day...I mean, besides the freebies,it does make me stop and think bout getting that full body checkup. As they always say, prevention is better than cure...

RM35 for a school bus seat???

Talking bout travelling in the festive season, I know:

1. Seats are limited or even not available for last minute ppl
2. There's gonna be LOTS and LOTS of ppl
3. JAM

So my travel experience this time:

1. Got my ticket to Singapore on Hari Raya eve. ( Lucky shot, bought it 2 days before but then it was the last seat and the ride was bumpy.) There was a couple, from the way they were talking, I guess, they might be from Indon? Don't really care, but I know they were heading to JB. What happened was they didn't check on their bus ticket when they bought it. it was written there 10:30 AM. The time then 10:30 PM. So we were all held up because these 2 ppl would not budge, especially the wife. She keeps on saying that she got night tickets, and this is the once in a year thing, with prayers and all that. At one point, I do pity her. But then again, it was her mistake for not checking the ticket issued. (LESSON TO BE LEARNT 1: Always check the details of the tickets purchased before leaving the counter~!) So, after 15 minutes of really high pitch bickering with the husband, the bus driver decided to let her sit on the step, promising her that she'll reach her destination. She actually did sit on the step for that 4-5 hours journey. So that was my way there.

2. My way back. Was on the Singapore Express to JB. In Larkin, there were these "poachers" looking for their "victims". People always say, buy from the counters to avoid conmen. Well, what I did was exactly that and I still kena tipu~! Stupid~! The fella pointed to the picture of their typical express bus. So yea, ok. You charge me RM35 and you send me back to my hometown. Fine, in my heart I was thinking, 1030am bus, brings me back to Klang, okay. Although dad suggested RM25 that goes to KL. But why the hassle? Mind as well go straight back. BUT you know what? We got a RM35 SCHOOL BUS SEAT each. DAMN~! WTF is this? You tell me straight that it's a school bus instead of showing me the picture and tell me loads of crap. SUPER WIRA express, not going to take that bus ever again~!! ( LESSON TO BE LEARNT 2: ALWAYS ask what bus, always buy earlier tickets to get better seats )

I think the most important lesson is: DON'T TRAVEL DURING FESTIVE SEASON~!

*This post was suppose to be posted earlier before I went to Penang, but got caught up with work in the middle of composing.

A short trip

Singapore~! Haven't been there for a few months...lemme think, hm...don't really remember when I last visited. The Raya hols was around, didn't have much to do so decided to come down for a break, since I got the whole week off. My gosh...my accumulated hours came up to be 47 hrs~! Can you believe that?~! Since I don't get to earn much, so mind as well I take the break. There's nothing much to do here. Pratically lazing around, XBox, then Drama serials, then playing with my nieces.

Just saw the mail from Fatt. He said "Have you thought of the New Year resolution we made last year?" and something about have you achieve it. Frankly, I'm not sure whether I made any. But to sum it up for now, it's been a good year despite some sad stories. I've met with the Kura-Kura ppl, made efforts to meet up with old friends, shopped a lot compared to last time, got a new niece ( and one more should be arriving in November), my 3rd brother getting registered in Dec( banquet next yr), got invited to 2 weddings (haha, think i blogged about that), lost my W550, finally went to Penang for work, my first SPA experience, blogging more than last time, haven't found my knight in shining armour though....the list goes on. Hmm...it'll be in my blog somewhere in December la, maybe some other stuff will happen by next month or even next week~! Anyway, back to the resolution thingy, think will make one at the end of the year.

That's all for now la...want to catch some TVB shows. Will only be back home on Sunday. Then it's work again~!

A Quick Entry

This is will be a short entry. Am back in town after a short trip to Penang. A bit sick of that place already lar...but will still make a trip up there after Raya. Let's hope it'll turn out better than expected. It's really nice to see all the hard work put into it and the results are good. I think the most satisfying part of the whole project was when we first receive the statistics...and the project is gonna end soon. =D Coming to the ending of October. Wow..there's like 2 more months and it's BYE BYE 2006. Still uncertain about the whole office-shifting thing. I might end up in KL or Shah Alam. Let's hope it's the latter. =D

Will end here la..nothing much is coming into my head now. I want to leave the office already.

Penang...again

Well well..I am back here. This time around, I'm staying in this luxurious hotel; Northam. Ask any Penangnites...they will know which hotel. hehee...lovely view. This time staying on the 24th floor. And it's been work since I've reached here on Tuesday. That Tuesday morning was really cool, it's like battle station in the meeting room. It was 8.10pm ( yea, was late coz I needed to pick everyone up) , everyone was geared up for the challenges that was to come. Well, some glitches in the morning, that needed us to patch the right things back in. Said something wrongly to the boss at the same time...I dunno what to feel anyway. Sighh...

So been driving all around Penang, and this time around, there's more people in the car. Not as stressed out as last time as the seniors are with us this time around. According to schedule, I'm suppose to be here for 2 weeks. This is my 5th day here dy. Had to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival here. Not celebration also, coz was working and came back so tired. Was working on saturday too.

Been having the hotel buffet breakfast daily...and too much of it, getting BORING~! Too much of hawker food is also boring~~~!! Today, met up with CM, ST, CK, CK, KH, Shaun, Fai for dinnner. Ate at Hai Nan Town near the ferry jetty. Food was a little expensive but it was good. After that was Tong Sui at Jalan Nagor. Not that bad. Probably coz we're too full, then din finish. Oh ya, before that met up with Cheng Mun. Frankly, I forgotten it's her bday. Always thot it's tmr....but nvm. Bought her a cup of coffee. Don't feel that bad dy. Went shopping a while with her also.

So it's another driving day tmr...need to get some time off when I get back to KL.

Pigging around

Not even sure that word exist~! But I've been sleeping a lot the past weekend. It's like a sleeping weekend..totally. Tried to finish up The Triangle..but I slept off...AGAIN~!!!! Don't really know what's going on.

So besides sleeping the only interesting thing I did over the weekend was attending Fatt's performance with Every Fallen Thursday in S.I.T. Kinda cool..feels like being back in uni. Truthfully, I think his band is kinda cool. I like the music that they play too. I'm surprised. :P Anyway, that show cost us RM10 each. It was entertaining enough. Dances and singing. It's really like those uni activities last time la. Sooo missing it.

Another thing to blog about is Fatt lost his car in SS15!! Poor thing. Lost his guitar too. I think this year is the most dramatic for him lar. He met with accident, had to claim insurance for the damage, then now his car got lost. So ppl...really, dun leave anything valuable in ur cars mann...especially laptops. Thank god he took out his new laptop and brought it with him. Last Friday left my laptop in my car, so worried from the moment I step down from the car till I got home. So the next time also I'll be bringing my laptop down la. Doesn't matter how heavy, I'll drag it along if I have to.

New week, was told to go for outstation tomorrow. So need to prepare for that. And besides that, will just sit and wait for the next thing to happen...*yawn....

Crappy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stupid blog...kicked me out when i was done with my post. Totally lost the whole piece that I composed since an hour ago~! KNS~!

Lazy to re-type all lar...just highlight the main things...which was the wedding last weekend. Everyone had a great time. It wasn't a grand thing. Just simple and nice. That's how I want my wedding to be also. It was suppose to be a very sweet event, with the bride and groom exchanging their vows, but the groom...need to make corrections to the previous post la...let's just say he's a better engineer than a romantic guy. :P The bride was beautiful, the car was really nice too. The photographers were good too. I prefer this wedding dinner than the previous wan lar. My colleagues were good. Eating with them was funny from the time the night started. It was fun~! Had a little too much of alcohol on that night too. Din get drunk, but a lot to give me a headache. But after that also joined the Kura-Kura-ians for a game of pool and yumcha session before I really got back about 2 plus. Slept straight after that.

Friday nite got a visit from an old friend all the way from Ampang. CY came to visit and yumcha session in Starbucks till bout 12 plus. He started la...with his stories bout his work and all. It's like you heard it all before...but he's considered lucky to be able to travel around...he's probably off to Laos already now. But he's complaning bout his work already...and I cannot take the bragging part. Maybe he din meant it with the bragging, but it sounded like it when he said it. I wonder if he knows... and I don't really know how to say it to him also. So I just let him talk la.

Ok lar..another working week already. Need to pay my loans too. Think I just got an SMS to remind me of the due date. :p Will get it done during lunch. So that's all...don't want the server to kick me out again.

Almost almost...

Yea..thank God again for brakes mann....Close shave as what Steph said. Almost bang into a Waja coz of the sudden emergency brake of the cars in front...not sure how many. But no accidents happened. THANK GOODNESS. Fully stepped on my brakes.. Sudden adrenaline rush to the head also. Note to self: Keep a reasonable distance with the car in front next time. ( I doubt that kinda note will work, but it's worth a try :P )

Latest news...i got my laptop RAM upgraded. it's running on 1GB of RAM..which is a big improvement to it, but starting up still takes up some time compared to the upgrade from 256MB to 512MB last time. Too much stuff at my start-up, need another round of "housekeeping".

Was at KLCC yesterday for the Telecommunications exhibition. Met up with some old friends..mostly juniors. Even saw my cousin there, but he said he almost could not recognise me. Nothing much that really attracts me there. You get awed with the speed of the latest wireless broadband...1Mbps. Besides that, it's basically exhibition of products/tools. Not much freebies for us too. Only a couple of pens, calendar. Oh ya...took picture with Dayang Nurfaizah, one of the finalist for One in A Million.

Recently got back in touch with Khai Tzer. He will be appearing on TV soon enough. will watch out for that. Not sure he's ok bout me giving him some publicity, but watch out for it. Debuting on the 21st of this month. Will probably meet up with him to yumcha one of these weeks and get more info on that.

So boring today...but I hope no more accidents or near-accidents encounter already lar. *touchwood* Looking forward for the weekends........ :)

Wedding dinner receptions

Once mention the word WEDDING, I'm sure each girl that you meet has their own DREAM/FANTASY wedding. I was at one last weekend. A good friend of mine finally got married after 7-year-relationship with his gf. More of a typical Chinese wedding banquet with 9-course dinner and super noisy environment with old relatives speaking loudly in Hokkien. CJ was telling me she wants her wedding to be one dedicated for friends, and the other for family. Hmm...looking at my brothers weddings...things are getting more boring? It'll start off with slide presentation, then food presentation..then makan..then speech, then champagne, then cake cutting ceremony.

There's something new this coming wedding that I'll be attending this weekend. It's my colleague. Romantic guy I assume...coz it's all about first impression. The wedding invitation is something new. Lovely poem written by his future bride-to-be. Custom made. Impressive( well..it also means he already dumped in a whole lum sum for this once in a lifetime thing...which I think is REALLY sweet ). Din take a snap shot of it...but it's just sweet. And the wedding will be the first ever buffet-style wedding that I'll be attending. ( Not that I'd attend a lot before, heyyy...come to think of it, this islike my 2nd wedding invite...I mean...not including those relatives-invite-parents-and-parents-drag-us-along type. ) And I heard a lot bout his plans for his wedding. It's gonna be under a canopy, they are gonna exchange vows in the garden before the dinner reception. Wow..sounds like what you see on tv eh? Looking forward to that. Will be bringing my camera then.

Last week was also Fatt's first gig. I missed that coz mood down. I dun really know what mood I was in. Just in the mood to stay home alone. I heard it was okay, wasn't that bad. I slept at 12. Heard fireworks outside, just wasn't in the mood and also tired and restless at the same time. Weekend also just passed by. After the wedding dinner, went for drinking session at CW's house. Drank quite a lot..din reach drunk stage. I was still very much sane. Fatt was totally drunk and started crapping and screaming. LD, WS and CW also KO. It wasn't that bad session, laughed at Fatt was the best entertainment la. So after that, all went back. The next day went yumcha at Oldtown. Yea, the Omega half boiled eggs was really GOOD~! :P

So after that LONG weekend...(friday din felt like a working day.... ) it's back to work~!

New phone, old line

After the incident 2 weeks ago, I bought over my colleague's phone. Motorola E398. Looks new. Getting used to the Motorola interface. The surround sound from the phone is kinda cool. Still discovering....sigh...makes me think of my lost phone. So many other features that I havent look at yet...

Okay, been busy with work. Slowed down the past few days. Money also still that low...credit card bills unsettled. Ok...been complaining bout lack of money since Day 1, but it's the truth. Eating out with my colleagues during lunch is still that hurting to my pocket. Yesterday was Dragon-i...cost RM25 for each. But it was goooood food...so no complaints. REALLY good xiao long bao~! and also the Shanghai noodles. GOOD GOOD.

Makan session with the Kura-Kura-ians last weekend. Sat was at Gold Leaf, eat dishes with rice. Sun was in Port Klang, eating noodles...mostly spicy stuff, Kok Wai was trying very hard to eat. Hahah...poor thing. Think when the guys ordered they totally forgot bout KW. He ended up with 3 glasses of cincau~! :P The food? Not bad at all. Never explored Klang for food that much...till I met the Kura-Kura-ians. Last weekend, we had this small ceremony in Chiang Wei's place to mark the end of the badminton match that lasted for 2 months. Haha...yea...longer than World Cup... :p Certs were passed out and we had COLD Dominos pizza coz our dear Fatt was late. After that was squash session where Chiang Wei accidentally hit the squash ball to my eye~!!! I'm ok lar...just blueblack. Still got a mark.... hopefully it gets well before my parents return for this weekend.

So that's all for this time...can't believe my friend said blogging is a waste of time...wow...his words, sank in there and then. If you're reading this, I'm ok, I respect other ppl's decisions... :) Lunch ...~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pure rotten luck

Name: Sony Ericsson W500
Lifetime: 8 months
Case: STOLEN~! @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

What the heck is wrong with the society these days mann....My precious was stolen from me on that particular Saturday where I thought I was lucky enough to catch Click and also buy some stuff for half price~!!~ The world of unfairness..Of course, I am to be blamed for it also coz I wasn't careful enough. This is soooooo sad...................... Penang...some memories MAN....

I'm currently sending over files back to KV, been tired and sleepless the past nite..rushing to finish all. This is like torture....although the up part bout the whole trip to Penang is meeting up with my friends...and GOOD FOOD. I've gained back all the weight I lost the past week. But there's also the down part on the phone thingy...SIGHH...alrite...practically brain dead and not processing alot of things well..better write in another time...

PENANG

Mention Penang and all you can think is: FOOD~! Been here for 5 days already, only ate like normal yesterday. Before that was busy driving around for my scan drive. Being paired with a weak partner is not encouraging plus all the problems with the equipment. WHICH in the end of the day needed another team to help us out. They are here today and WOW, we're here in this deluxe suite. :P Better than those RM80 - RM100 /day hotels.

Yesterday was bad, I kinda reached breaking point. After that, I realised that I'm working with a very united and supportive team. Which is another push for myself to work harder. All I have to learn now is to not stress myself out that easy. Think it's the no-communication with my partner is the one causing the anxiety and insecurity. So crazy man... but one msg from KY(my supervisor)...he said this: "YL, don't think so much, there's not big problems that we cannot solve, take care".

With that said, I cried. I cried for thinking so much, I cried coz I lost confidence, I cried coz i was just plain stupid. But I know how much my teammates support me, so I'm all well and will do better. I just need to stop making mistakes...I SERIOUSLY need to learn that. Actually before the Penang trip, Chow(my previous supervisor) was very helpful in finding a place for me to stay. Gosh, I love my colleagues a lot.

SO, it's getting late. I'm on the 29th floor of Northam Hotel, overlooking the sea. Simply magnificent. I'm gonna spend my weekend here. Kinda last minute decision, but will make an effort to meet up with all my friends. So far met up with ST, CK, Kok Hui, Shaun, Foong Tek, Cheng Mun and Kenneth. Will be meeting up Poh Imm and William. The rest...I'll see how. :) So will sign off frm Penang. It had been a tiring, crazy but most of all, a week of discovery. :D

Stress at work

Wow...I'm finally feeling that STRESS...Been crazy these few days with the database stuff. Killing my eyes with excel... That day was more stressed out when the engineer told me I have limited time to executed some commands. Damn scaryyyy.....

Anyway...it's getting close to ONE year. Yea...in a couple of days actually. Going to treat myself with something good. Still not sure what is that yet. Kinda broke this month having to pay for my car insurance and Penang and family day thingy this coming Saturday.

Last weekend...Beggar chicken. Well...one thing for sure is I wont be making a second trip back there to eat. All the stuff kinda taste the same...something like stewed herbal chicken/duck/pork leg.The boneless fish was interesting, but in the end, just tasted like some fish cake. Soup also tasted like some normal pig intestine soup that you can find it at any normal hawker stall. Rating: 2 out of 5.

Oh ya..the Tmn Wahyu Fish Head Curry. Again, expectations were a bit too high, so kinda disappointed in the end. Same thing as Beggars Chicken. Expensive, not worth the money and travel time.

Food talk eh...hmm...since we're there. There's this nice place in Bdr Puteri. Bumbu Bali. Had Mell's bday there. I think the food is quite okay. Balinese food. Most of the marination had a touch of lemongrass taste in it. With other spices I assume. Portion quite big when you're talking bout those Nasi type of orders. For the ladies menu, well...it's a small small portion. Kinda felt like being ripped off.... :P but then, it's low fat and all that crap lar. As friend stated, food with that spice taste can only last one or 2 trips, and you'll get bored of it.

Another one that I like now is O~Viet. in Sunway. Nice food, nice restaurant...nice drink~!! There's only one cold drink that I like from there....DST5: 3 bean mix. ..or something like that. The hot drink? Drip-Coffee....STRONG AND SIMPLY GOOD. food wise...so far, most of the stuff that I tasted is kinda nice. Again with the taste of the lemongrass, but it's really good food.

Jap food....ZEN. My TOP list of food to eat when I have the money. Can be quite expensive, but food is good, so no other bad comments.Place is nice, quite, ambience is there. Sunway also. Must be a place to try out...Sashimi is fresh...havent tried their sushi. Unagi is not that bad there either.

Fast food wise...I kinda like the KFC BBQ Cheesy meltz...not that bad. McD's beef foldover is also good. Pizzza hut...i like their pasta range...currently looking at the Prawn Olio. only tasted once...need to try it again to really confirm it's nice. :P

Well well...enough of food talk already. Going off....it's another tiring day. It's been a moody day for me...I just want it all to go away, but I guess only that someone can help me with it...sighh...

My 25 mins in the lift

Interesting week I might say. Didn't start off that well, since I got myself stuck in the lift on Tuesday. It was the first ever that I was stuck in the lift ...alone. The silence can be really irritating. So it was a normal Tuesday morning, I got out of my house later a bit, it was about 8.20am....under normal traffic conditions, I should be able to reach office by 9....which I did although there was a slight jam over the highway. Reached office parking lot, a little over 9...it was probably 9:05. Still, I got a place in B2( my usual parking level ) with not a bad spot near the lift....surprising. Got to the first lift...everything was okay. Second lift, saw these 3 other girls waiting for the same one. Lift reached 1, all of us went in. 1st girl pressed 3, the next 2 girls stopping at 4. I'm stopping at 6 as usual. 1st girl - got out. 2nd and 3rd girl - got out. When the lift was reaching 6, it suddenly stopped. I was a little shocked, tried pressing the buttons...no lights....next instinct was to ring the yellow bell. I rang it 3 times be4 calling my superior to tell him i was stuck in the lift. It took the security 5 minutes to respond to someone stuck in the lift~!!!! Slow.... the next few instance was just waiting n waiting for rescue. I managed to sms-ed my friends. I was sooo bored. It took them 25 mins for the maintenance guy to come n save me... but I'm thankful for the ppl who actually tried to open the lift door, although I dun really know who. Can't see them thru the small opening between the doors. Fuhh...after 25 mins, got out, and got up to office. Everyone thot I'd start crying or screaming...well...I was calm enough I guess. At some point when I was trapped in, think I felt scared. But I knew someone would be rescuing so it's all okay.

And after that incident, it was work and work and work. I had too much of Excel for this week. All confused by having like 15-20 sheets of Excel running on my laptop at one time. Indeed very new to me. Let's not forget the errors that I made. Sigh...seems like it's always me with the mistakes...or is it me who are the one admitting to all my mistakes first? Not sure what it'll reflect on my boss...but I hope it does not affect the part where he'll fight for my increment. :D

So that's it bout this week. Going off for Mell's bday thingy in Puchong. Getting veryyyyyy boring sitting in the office by myself. Time for another weekend. This weekend should be just Beggar chicken and quiet time at home..with my leftover Excel work~!! Last week shopped too much already. Alritey..will make a move...

Work work work

Been swamped with work recently, started with the new project. My trip to Penang had been postponed to next month. So my Penang friends...will have to wait another month to meet up then. Last weekend was meet-up session with my friends from uni. SC and the rest. Everyone's seems to be fine. The conclusion I get after meeting up with 3 groups of my friends...majority of them ended up in the Telecommunications line...it's not surprising I guess...

Last weekend also was the first time that I went on shopping with the Kura-Kura ppl. Quite interesting also...Laughed like mad. True wat KF said lar, been out too much.. can't tone it down. It's like weekends are something to look forward to already. What's life without this sampat group of ppl lar??!

Changed my hair style last weekend also...nothing much, just shifted my hair parting. My friends thinks it's good..so I'll stick with it.

p/s: voltboy, thanks for reading, I guess my answer to u is I expect my credit card bills to maintain a certain amount...not going so high up. :D

7 years....

Been really that long since I last saw most of them. This is another weekend that I'm gonna be hanging out with my friends. Yesterday was at dinner with Man Chong, Simon, Ken, Serloon and Vivian. Vivian and Ser Loon are new faces. Ken, knew him last year. Man Chong n Simon...since secondary school but have not met them after a while. The catching up feeling is really nice. There's gonna be 2 sessions with my friends tmr. One with the Kura-Kura clan, the other with my old uni friends.

Last week went to IOI for lunch with the animal gang. Lunch to send off Nee Peng to Penang and Heng Leong to Philippines. Yea, everyone's going around. But it was fun. Seng was as himself, well, everyone were themselves for that whole lunch session. Din change one bit since graduation. Still that "peh"...If ppl ask what we do and we tell them we're engineers, dun think they'll buy it.

After that, went for quick shopping spree with Mel. Shopped yet again~! Sigh, got my credit card bill yesterday....i realised the bill is only going one way...which is UP~!!!!!!!!!!!!! Living on credit....sighhhhhhhhh....alrite, not a good way to start my morning lar. Better do some work now...

Life's Great..

It's been a really great 2 weeks since I've last blogged. Loved the weekend getaway in Genting. Probably what I needed the most for now. IT WAS COLD ~~~~

This is the group of people that was there with me ... the Kura-Kura-ians~~ (except for Thean)Nothing but a nice cool ice-cream session up in Genting....Cun-ness~!! 3am Coffee Bean session @17 degrees

The purpose was just to chill while some of them went for JJ Lin concert. Think it was a good concert while the rest of us just lepak and watch the England vs Portugal match. Surprise of the day would be meeting up with Chye Hsia and Kum Nyin+Yin Kwan. I met with Chye Hsia in the new casino while met up with KKN when the football match started. The crowd was awesome~~~

It was a fun trip...Fatt and Drew were the main jokers. Laughed till my stomachached...yea, laughed till can't stop. This is the funniest bunch that I've ever been with. Too bad Drew will be going off to Melbourne on Friday. Oh gosh...I miss Genting SOOO MUCH~~The mist, the weather, the cold wind, the laugh. It was the best trip ever~~~

Weekend Away~~

Wished I had more than the weekend away. It's Weng Yan's birthday today...Missing it~~ Yea, her parents and grandparents planning to have her birthday celebration today at the childcare centre. I'm missing it~~~~~~ :( :(

It was weekend in Singapore. Friday was spent at home. Mom cooked nasi lemak....missed her cooking soooooooooo much. Din do much the weekend also, although said that I was gonna go for shopping, but it's a weird feeling:- the STINGY feeling. Yea, was doing all this conversion in my head, and thinking I could get the same things in Malaysia probably with a more affordable price. So I decided not to shop. Window shop instead. :P Then dinner was excellent~! Buffet at Sakura. Ate till bloated...I can still remember the durian puffs...simply EXCELLENT~~!! Dinner was on me. SGD252. I'm broke for the month, but it's once in a blue moon that we have a complete family dinner gathering..I'm happy ( and SGD200 was actually from my mom...she gave me the money...and lots of stories that came after )

Ring Ring...Wedding Bells....Yea, 3rd bro is gonna get married next year? or the year after. RoM is scheduled for the end of this year. Hmm...that would mean I have 1 year to DIET and exercise. My 3rd brother is soooo thin dy. He lost 10kg~~~~~~ My brother will be my motivation!

It was also World Cup weekend...quite a disappointing one to a lot of ppl I guess. Din watch it. Coz was too tired by the time the game was on. Will be catching up with the rest of the game. Gonna meet up wth Ching Yen for this weekend's game lar. I need to watch a match with my friends la...so boring watching alone now that I'm home alone again.

How long can a friendship last?

It' so easy to say it... Friendship last forever... Remember the good ol' days before you leave primary/secondary/university, you always end up with this line : "Keep In Touch". Question is how many actually does it? I don't..I admit. Kinda hard to keep in touch with everyone I know. So in the end, we end up with that few close friends.

Probably it's always true what my parents always say. Friends are just temporary, once you leave that stage, they will leave too. Back in university days, we used to have birthdays for all that's in the group. You know what? This year, I already forgot 2 birthdays. And keeping in touch with the old gang...I think I've only kept in touch with 1/3 of them in each gang.

And the current gang I'm with is slowly divided into their own smaller cliques with different interest and hopes. I'd say this group will probably go their own ways...I'll give them to the end of the year. After some weird things happening recently, plus when CJ starts to feel something changed, and others starting to agree..THAT is the sign. So will just wait and see...

Minding your own business..

I'm ok with my dad not around sometimes, but having him back is just great...lots of stuff is done around the house, sigh, makes me feel bad especially when he initiated to wash my car... i love him sooo much. But the other day when I was lazing around watching tv, I overheard my neighbour talking to my dad...can't hear them properly but then, it was in hokkien and to my limited vocab and proficiency in that language, what I got was something to do with a guy or guys. My neighbour's is being really nosy bout what's happening to me. I think...coz right after that conversation, my dad sat beside me and started asking stuff bout Fatt, one of the guys in the gang.

So coincidentally he picked me up for yumcha the day before, it was 11pm, to my parents, that's bed time and yumcha session for a girl is not decent. Yea, I grow up with conservative parents. I knew that long time ago. Bet they will have endless lecture if they knew I went clubbing.. Anyway, back to the topic, my dad came and ask me a bunch of questions bout Fatt...I knew something was wrong, I think he suspects Fatt to be my bf or something... and I think it all started from what my neighbour told him...that's the conclusion I get lar... He wanted to ask the main question, I just said he's part of the group of ppl I hang out with for badminton and other stuff.

The thing bout me and my parents, I could sense when they want to ask whether I'm going out with anyone. I mean, it's not wrong lar, since I'm grown up already, just that the approach they have with me. My dad is protective I guess, but he's not happy with whoever I hang out with, especially when activities that goes on at nite. He thinks badminton can be played on weekends afternoons, friends meet up sessions can be done in daylight, everything that is accomplished during daylight is good. Any other things that's on at night is bad. I know this...even when I hang out longer with friends these days also he has something to say about it. Like last weekend, I was out for lunch with my friends from 12PM, I got back at 5PM, he had something to say about it.

Anyway..my blog title is not meant for my dad, coz he just cares bout his only daughter. I know that, and I love him so dearly...It's meant for my nosy neighbour to keep her nose where it belongs...~~~ and i wish she could read this too : STOP GIVING IDEAS TO MY DAD!!!

Clear skies...

Yea...that's what I hope for from now on. Was freaking unlucky last Friday...wasnt the 13th, but it was the worst in my life. Bad luck was just continuous for the whole day. Thank goodness it's all over...

And it's all quiet already....work just came n gone, it's all quiet now. I should start picking up some new skill/knowledge already. If not, it'll just be wasted. Life's still filled with boring stuff... weekends are still spent with the gang. And the recent update was of course me going on a date with the guy I met in the club last last weekend. I would say I had the most fun among all the dates I had, but still he's a year or 2 younger..So we'll just have to see how it will go...

It's close to a year since graduation already. My juniors are busy saying their farewells to their friends, kinda reminded me of my time. Since saw a few of my uni-mates recently, so refreshed my mind bout the times we used to spend to do crappy stuff like staying up late and early 630am bak kut teh sessions. Can't really stay up already these days. I get tired easily the next day...WHAT happened mann...??? I feel OLD..... alrite...time to leave the quiet office...

At my blurest ~~

Aiks...blurrrrrr day. Not enough sleep last nite kinda took revenge on me now. My heart is not into whatever I'm doing for the day...Crap, I'd even forgot to lock the freaking toilet door. Damn embarassing ... but u know what....i din feel a thing, really not myself..probably it's the panadol i took earlier. I'm lethargic and worn out...and I din even do much for the whole day. Must be the accumulative effect... or dunno..i'm blur and so i'm crapping...

Facelift~~

What my blog needs la...a facelift....havent completed it though, but this is the starting stage of it lar..It's coming close to end of the month...yeay...i want my pay~~ did a lil shopping and a lot of spending the past weekend. Movie weekend. Saturday was movie day. Watched Da Vinci in the morning and Poseidon at nite. Not that bad, but i preferred Poseidon over DaVinci. Too much info too short of a time. That's what I would say bout DaVinci. But it's ok, overall. Din really get to finish the book before the show, so dun have that high of an expectation compared to the rest I guess. In the afternoon went to pyramid, din get to shop much, again too short of a time there. I reached Pyramid at 4, had to leave by 6. Nothing much accomplished. Din even get my heels there. Only bought it after the movie.

And so..the speculation continues...there's this two people in my gang. We suspect that something is going on between them...none of them said anything to the gang yet, but from the stares and looks and sms-es during group gatherings...we're all watching........ i think it's a normal thing to hook up at this age, no one objects or anything, we find it extra interesting coz this meet-then-woo session only takes a week. Yea..u read it rite...ONE week. They met on a Sunday morning, call and meet up everyday after that. It's one week already, and 80% sounded like they are gonna announce something. and we're all waiting.... maybe it's love at first sight. these things actually exist?? I still wonder.

Recently being teased with a guy that I met in the club last weekend. Din want to comment a lot on it. That wasn't love at first sight, that was more of getting into the moment and having fun. I wonder why my friends are so over-reacting to it. Pls dun misunderstand, we did not kiss or anything of that sort, we just danced together and he asked for my number after that. Nothing special there...I think it's just normal. Well, after the nite ended, I din even get his name...until my friend told me. That's bad rite? :P He said he would call...and it was 4 days after, he sent an sms asking how I was doing. I was a little surprised, I thought I wont hear from him again. And been msging each other for the past weekend too. I was too bored at home. Funny guy... will see how things actually go... so that's it for now. FY, good luck in ur job-hunt. ;)

Party-ing weekend~~

Long weekend indeed. Had a visit from Siew Theng, all the way from Penang.Kinda nice, so we had dinner at Magical Theatre Restaurant (again~!This is like my 4th or 5th time there, but if u want really cool birthday surprises, u should try it...it's just magical and for this occasion, drop dead funny~!) Yea, it was CK's birthday celebration. He was called up to the stage and the magician made a 10-minute embarassing moment for CK, but the magic was really cool. This time around was way funnier than last time Jac's birthday. Oh ya, talking bout Jac, sad news actually, she was knocked down by a motorcycle the other day. She fell flat on the ground, stupid biker left her with bruises all over her body. The biker turns out to be a thief running away from the police. Hope she recovers soon from the whole thing. Anyway, back to the birthday surprise. It was also a gathering for all of us after 1 year since graduation. There were 13 of us all together including ST's sis and bro n his friends. Food again was so-so, but watching the birthday boy on the stage was the icing on the cake lar. Hope to see the vid clip of him. After the dinner, plans were made for Bak Kut Teh in Klang the next afternoon.

After dinner with ST, rushed back to be in time for clubbing session with the gang. 8 of us went. First time for CJ n Thean. We went to Passion in KL. It was quite a nice place. There, we met with Wee San's friends. A whole bunch of them. 10 of them actually, only get to know 3 of them only after the nite ended. But clubbing was nice after so long. Since been so sien with my studies, needed the break. Danced the nite away. At the end of the nite, 2 guys frm my gang were drunk, threw up and one of them were actually were lying down on the street~~!! I wasn't drinking coz they were taking hard liquor. Dun like hard liquor...so had orange juice and that was only a sip or 2. Din taste nice. Thank goodness I didn't drink coz after the nite ended, I had to drive one of the guy's car. Imagine, these 2 fella who was drunk was sooooo loudly saying that they'll take care of us girls before we were there, in the end needed us girls to take care of them instead. Uselesssss~~!! Imagine if we needed them to protect us sumore...one of them vanished after a while when we reached Passion. :P But it was fun. I had fun for the nite. And it's bad seeing them puke but it was nice playing on them after they woke. They were so drunk till can't remember a thing, and it's sooo nice to tell them things they did and things that they think they did...muahahaha..

It was a happening Saturday nite+Sunday morning. I got back home at 430am. Been a while since this happened. and I didn't sleep much. And it's another working week ahead. Sighhhhh.....

42,3 children,recently divorced, HAPPY..

Yeap..that's the aunty that cuts my hair whenever I need it. The last time I went for my haircut, I was surprised when she said she was divorced. You should see the reaction on my mom's face when she told us that. I don't really know how long was the marriage( I don't really ask bout her marriage all this while that i've been visiting her for my haircuts ) but her eldest daughter is 16 this year. So it must had been pretty long. My mom's impression on her ex-husband was kinda good...she decribes her ex-husband was good-looking, gentleman, and soft-spoken. The ugly truth? WIFE-BEATER and CONMAN. This is what we call: Looks can be deceiving. Is your boyfriend/girlfriend cheating on u today? Hmmm...you think about it. The truth was her ex-husband bluffed her on matters regarding the house, the car and overdue bills. My gosh, he'd even sold her car off without her knowing it. Well, you must be thinking that she is dumb and all, but she was hoping that her ex-husband would be touched and return to the right path ( she's Christian, she prays for husband to return to her and she'll forgive whatever wrong he'd done ). I know it wasn't that smart of a move but she's only a woman, with 3 child. Eldest is 16, second one is 14, youngest is 10. All of them still needs a loving household. She admitted that her husband hit her on a lot of occasions and they've been separated for the past 2 years. No one really knows the story till now. She thought that it was a shameful thing is others know about it. But now, she had enough. She stood up, requested for the divorce and now she's moving on. Her ex-husband is in fact a little jealous that now she's being pursued by another man. How selfish... if you yourself can't love a woman, why would you want to hold on to her?Total crap...and after what he'd done, there's no woman that can tolerate with that kind of act. So both of them were advising me to be careful when i'm looking for my bf/husband next time...as if that's gonna happen anytime soon :P

Gosh, blogging after a long period of time again...

Aloha~! To whoever that actually still reads this junk. Hahaha...so it's been a fun and exciting life so far. The crap sessions..then badminton...yea..it's this group of 8 or 9 or 10...i dunno, it's just expanding. It was K-session last week that made us all sang for 4 hours~!!! Can you believe it, 4 hours!!!! It poured and there was thunderstorm..we were clueless about it. Till I got home, and sadly, my ADSL died.

So been doing a lot of stuff also. We were suppose to have this water balloon fight thingy on the 1st to celebrate Kok Wai's bday. Well, bday boy got into a little accident so the celebration was cut short. But nevertheless, we had the celebration the day after.

Hmm...every weekend had been outings till late nites...gosh..think my dad is starting to hate my new lifestyle. This is great, i bumped into KF's blog and i found this piece:

    8
8 met
on a heart shape day
2 were my old's
the rest are new
from planned sushi
to a waited more than an hour
but food never arrived cafe
to a dim sum restaurant
thought was a one night stop
ended up almost every weekend
every other day
for sure every wednesday
different backgrounds
funny stories
fresh characters
balance gender
caring and laughter
funny how it all connected
despite the connected area
and the circle is growing out 8
where were they before this ?
where were i before this ?
how were we before this ?
Connect - disconnect - reconnect
make believe.
-written by CKF-
A very nice piece indeed. Makes you think of how it all started and how it's going and how's thing going to be. This is the start of a beautiful friendship.

Hmm..back with a mission

Oh dear, totally left the blog for so long. Okay, I shall wrap up the China story first. The training was informative, I got exposure with the planning tool, drive-test tool, went for a real drive-test....ok....sounds boring for ppl who are not in my field. So that aside. Went for sight-seeing in Cultural Village in Shenzhen. Nice place, but don't have the time to really walk the whole area. Too big to cover in such a short time. Oh yea, and went to Hong Kong to visit and also to get my NEW phone~! Sony Ericsson W550i. Celebrated New Year there, counting down in one of the trainee's room coz was transfering all the pics that we took of the training and visits. And it was take off on the 1st night back to Malaysia. Oh..and I had time to grab some souvenirs back too. By the time we left China, I was broke...as in I don't have any RMB left in my wallet. Eh, forgot to mention that I got sick also. Had a taste of Chinese medicine. VERY effective. Met some really nice people. I wonder if I'd hear from them again especially those overseas.

That;s one training that was really cool, except the part that I need to take the test. Now, I'm undergoing another training but only here in Phileo Damansara. Had to drag myself up early just to beat the traffic to reach there on time. Must be the hols, my travel time there is about 40 mins without the jam. Hmm....

Anyway, the mission that I was refering to was to update my blog. The greatest thing since I took a break from blogging was meeting up again with old friends, and getting together with a new group of friends. It started with Feb 14th, V-day. Chin Jie and Wee San thought of dinner for "singles"...CJ don't really fit into that category though...anyway, they decided to have dinner together, so asked me along. And there, I met with Thean and Kim Fatt. AND that was when all of the yumcha session, breakfast session, dinner session, and badminton session started. :D I met with Beverly and Kok Wai too. Badminton is every Wednesday that I can make it. :P It's nice to have this fun bunch of ppl. Life is getting boring with nothing much on.

Work is slowing down. Am always in office, doing nothing but following episodes after episodes of CSI. So the training session is good for now. At least I get some new input. And the good part bout it ( altough very far ) is that it starts at 930 and ends at 5. Meeting new ppl in the class, since I'm there without knowing anyone beforehand. There's this guy from Philipines, Franklin. 2 guys from Pakistan, Babar and Nathar ( sounded something like that). One Iranian guy, dunno his name. The rest are Malaysians. CK, Vijay. Yet to know the other 2 chinese fella and 2 more Malay fella ( suppose to be my colleagues :P...but they are based in HQ, so I don't really know them ). TEST in one and half weeks time. :P Got lab session sumore. This should be quite interesting. So that's it for now. I'll blog again some other time.

China story continues...

I'm a bit surprised that a junior of mine approached me saying he read my blog. Nvm, I knew someone will bump into my blog one day. So ...welcome... I guess... :D

Anyway, let's continue with China...

19th Dec 2005

Started with my first day of training. Standard intro session. So awkward, most of the people there are like sooo much more experienced than me. The biggest surprise was meeting with Rohan, another MMU-ian. Din expect to see him there. I got to know that I wasn't the only fresh grad there lar...which was kinda not so intimidating after all. So it was ok...kinda boring for a first day..somewhere in the mid of it I think i fell asleep. Then first day lunch in the canteen. First exposure to the fatty, oily and salty food. Believe it or not, I finished it. After that was another introductory to the Chinese culture: Everyone sleeps after lunch...along the corridors~!!! They have like sofas along the corridors put just for that~!! You can see it from the picture below. This is just one of the corridors.

Should have taken pic of the pantry also. We have breaks of 10 minutes every morning and afternoon and we'll head to the pantry for green tea. First week, still new to the place, we see the fruits in the pantry but we dare not take any. Haha..funny coz when it came closer to the end, we took all of it. :P The thing is...the first day of training, I got my cup and all the stuff that needed to study on...it was a thick book. Other references were copied into my laptop. So first day ended with some basic introduction and by the time we finished with training, it was already dark outside and it was only 6pm~! We head back to our room and dropped our bags and it was 7 something that we decided to get ourselves dinner. We walked into some restaurant nearby the hotel and ordered some food.Ohh...temperature was about 10 degrees come night time. After dinner, we over to the supermarket to get some stuff like biscuits and instant noodles just in case. Then this became our routine for the coming days. After dinner, was back in my room doing surfing and study~!! Yea, the training comes with a test at the end of the week. It's like back to school for me. So after some studying...haha..and TV. a lot of channels there, and most of the time I'll be tuned into the MTV channel.

20th Dec 2005

  1. Breakfast in canteen ( yau char kuai and porridge)
  2. Class
  3. 10 mins tea-break
  4. Class
  5. Lunch
  6. Class
  7. 10 mins tea-break
  8. Class
  9. Dinner
  10. Study + TV

21st Dec 2005

Repeats 1-10 of previous day. Only thing different was I went to get some fruits from the nearby fruit stall. Grapes, oranges and apples. And dinner this time around was in the nearby mall. We tried KFC...which was WAY EXPENSIVE although after conversion and not worth it also. My colleague was complaining bout it. But one thing good was the Portugese egg tart...who would have thought KFC serving egg tart~!

22nd Dec 2005

Repeats of 1-10. Starting to feel a bit tensed coz test is the next day. Just read what I could and hope for the best.

23rd Dec 2005

Test day...wasn't that bad. Trainer sat in front busy doing his work, we were at the back discussing most of the time. The other guy was even better, he had his laptop on to check on the answers. But I tried to answer most of it by myself before really giving up. Test took up half the day. Classes resume after lunch. At night, we had free dinner complimentary of the organisers of the training. It was a Christmas night celebration. We had buffet dinner...yeah, it was good food after all the bad ones we had be4 this night came along. :P After that was the celebration thingy with songs and dances. Was there till bout 11 something then return to our rooms.

24th Dec 2005

Hong Kong here we come ~!!! Was suppose to be scheduled with classes on this day but since the trainer thought Christmas was a big celebration in our country, he thought he'd give us all the day off. So since we had the multiple entry visa, we made a last minute plan to drop by HK. Our trainer brought us there. It was my first experience with the public bus i think...bus 415...I will never forget it in my life. We reached Lo Hu train station bout 11 something...and there were LOTS of people already waiting at the immigration. We got to Hong Kong about 12 plus. Took the train and went straight to Mong Kok. Had lunch there in one of the resturants...and yea, being the tourist, we were expecting a lot of throat-cutting session...and YES, first cut-throat session was lunch. All of us ordered the signature dish of the shop. They had Small, Medium or Large portion. I chose small and that already cost me HKD48. It was HKD68 for medium and HKD88 for Large. Frankly, we all couldn't find any much difference in all that sizes, probably only the bowl. :P

So after lunch, we went over to see handphones....never did I expect to get my new phone there. It was REAL cheap after conversion. I think I got a good bargain lar in the end of the day. Although when I came back, I found out the price here is about there. I probably save RM100 only for my new phone. Yeah...2005, the year of new gadgets. It's Sony Ericsson W550i walkman phone. Very cool...never regretted getting it. We spent half our day in that place looking at phones and comparing prices. Then off we go to Kowloon East to see fireworks for Christmas countdown. Then it was shoppinggggggg... I bought a scarf, 2 pairs of socks, a top and skirt for my niece. Too much of shopping la..my legs were way beyond tired already. We walked the whole day and not stopped till it was dinner....My goodness... Then dinner...we had siu long bau which was really good and some noodles. Walked sumore after that then we head home. It was a long and tiring day. But it was fun. My first time in HongKong. :)

To be continueddd......

Back.....

Whoaa~~! Already in the mid of Jan, sigh, I left the blog like so long already. Well...it's a good start to the new year knowing that I get my allowance for my overtime~!!!! That's like the best news after hearing my boss sending me some praises. No bonus though, but getting the money is good enough. Another thing to keep quiet about, hmm...I think need to start to learn to keep quiet bout lots of stuff.

SO,let's talk bout CHINA. Don't think one blog could cover all, in fact, this blog will be mainly words. All the pics are in my laptop and currently not planning to touch my laptop till I recover my lost files.

Dec 18th 2005:

In time to bid farewell to my niece, she got home in time to see me leave~! Reached KLIA at about 6am. Waited a while before meeting up with colleagues, then checked in and stuff like that. About 7.50, we got on the plane. Excited and window seat. Nice view of the wing nothing much. :P Quite a small plane (737). it's like a bus with a lot of tourists heading to Shenzhen.Noisy and not comfortable to sleep in. Thank goodness it was only a 3 and 1/2 hr flight. Food was rice with chicken, salad, fruit, bread and a drink. Din taste that bad, but one of my colleagues, KY, was so sick of the plane food that he din touch it. Anyway, reached Shenzhen bout 12 something....got a taxi and off we go to our hotel. Oh...the temperature was 14 degrees. Nice, sunny but cool. The taxi, left-hand drive...not so shocking till the fella got on the high way. Honking here and there, emergency break, cutting left n right. Culture shock. It was still ok in the end of the day. We reached our hotel bout an hr later. Nice hotel....nice room...nice place. Checked in, dropped our bags and off we go to look for place to go. Still was new to the place, so we took another cab to Dong Men, a shopping place. That's where another eye-opener came in. The people. Their culture of marking their product prices real high and letting people bargain for anything and everything. Ohh...before that, need to elaborate more on the driving culture there. Horrifying~! Imagine....they can reverse and make 3-point turn in the middle of the road...it's 2-lane and there's so many cars coming from the opposite direction...they dun step on their brakes unless it's necessary only and that is very seldom, they like their vehicles to be moving ALL the time.
Funny experience on the first day was the porridge. We were at a dimsum restaurant, thought bout our typical porridge where each of us will only get a small portion. So each of us ordered one bowl. We were a little surprised when one of the waitress came back and asked us again whether we were serious bout ordering 4 bowls. With a determined voice, my colleague, Raymond said yes. To our surprise, they served us 4 BIG bowls of porridge. Those big bowls as in those u find when u order noodles back here. Not big u might say, but it's VERY big to us considering we had dimsum before that porridge came. It was cheap...3.80 yuan(RM1.90) per plate of dimsum. We ordered a few.

Anyway, shopping on the first day...only got myself another winter jacket, cost bout 100 yuan, that's bout RM50. Thot it was cheap, but then I was told I could get it for way cheaper. And bought another sweater for 40 yuan(RM20). Didn't buy already after that. Wanted to buy boots, but came to think of it, very seldom that I could wear that back home. Got back to hotel bout evening to meet up with another colleague,Kong, who took a flight that landed in HK. Then it was dinner. Our first dinner. This was another thing to remember for the rest of our lives. "Xiang Chai" (Local Dish....not sure bout the translation :P) . It was HOT~! And it was basically chili, chili and more chilii~~!! oh ya..and pepper too. Got scared of it already. We got back to our hotels after that. It gets cold once it gets dark. And night time there starts bout 6.30pm. So got back to my hotel, opened up my suitcase and arranged my stuff. Got ready for the next day....It was a good sleep with a comfortable bed.

To be continued....
